technologyTechnology Hacks To Streamline Your Day And Increase Productivity

If you’re spending your days always trying to catch up on work or get more done you could be using your technology to help you do that instead of letting social media and other distractions consume your day. Technology has evolved and these days there are a ton of cool new gadgets that can assist you. If you need to streamline your work processes and find new ways to get more done, like most of us do, here are some easy and creative tech hacks that will help you get control of your day again so that you can be more productive:

Stop Trying To Change Yourself

This is a problem that lots of people struggle with. But trying to change yourself to fit into a schedule or fit into a certain role that isn’t you isn’t going to help you be more productive. There’s no virtue in setting yourself up to fail. You don’t need to be good at everything. But what you need to do is allow yourself to outsource the things that you’re not good at. Or build a team that can take on the tasks that you are not good at or are uncomfortable with.

I had a team leader once that was terrible at sales. He hated doing sales, and he was not good at sales. But he felt like as team leader he needed to do sales. So instead of doing what he was best at, which was leading the team, he wasted a huge amount of time trying to get sales. Once he finally accepted that he hated doing sales and wasn’t good a it and hired a salesperson to do sales so he could focus on leading the time his productivity skyrocketed, and so did ours. Stop trying to change yourself. Accept what you’re good at and what you’re not and then outsource what you’re not good at.

Make Your Electronics Work For You Instead Of The Other Way Around

Do you feel like you’re always checking your phone, your email and your social media? If you are that is definitely affecting your productivity. Tech can be good, but it depends on the circumstances. I’d never blame you for using a public records search engine to have an idea of who lives in your neighborhood… That’s actually important.

You want to make sure that the area you live in is safe for your kids. Instead of having to drop everything to answer emails, take calls or respond to social media use those tools to continue working for you while you’re doing something else. Set up an auto response email that will respond automatically to emails that come in letting them know they will be answered at a set time. Forward your calls to voice mail when you need to concentrate on a project. And hire someone to take over your social media accounts so that you aren’t constantly struggling to keep up with social media.

Invest In Software

Why are you still doing your own billing when there is software that can do that for you? Stop making your life more difficult and invest in cutting edge software that can take those small tasks off your plate and free up your time to focus on other things. The cost of the software is well worth it when you consider how much time you’ll get as a result of automating your day to day processes.
